A few weeks ago the bf and I were in LA and decided to head up to Santa Barbara for the day to hit up some local wineries. Based on some recommendations from friends we ended up at the Municipal Winemakers tasting room, which is an intimate operation nestled away from the main drag. Now, I am by no means a wine connoisseur, although I can suss out a $7 pino grigio like it's my job, but after imbibing in a few reislings and reds we were smitten (as well as slightly buzzed). Since Ohio is somewhat far away from the west coast we wanted to know if any vendors sold their wines in the Columbus area, which is when our sommelier informed us about "Club Awesome" (aptly named). Once you become a member of "Club Awesome" you're billed every quarter (Dec, Mar, June and Sept) for 2 bottles of whatever they have on the docket that month. We were so impressed with the tasting room that we immediately signed up and will be receiving our first shipment within a few days. I definitely recommend taking a look at their website!

I have to admit that at first I was a little hesitant with the onslaught of the blouse trend because if I was going to invest in a piece then I didn't want an item that was too prissy or fussy (and of course, something that didn't sacrifice comfort). Lo and behold, Equipment quickly became an editorial darling and I was transfixed by a line that offered the right amount of structure and slouch.

orange crush
What better way to begin my inaugural post then to blog about London fashion week happenings across the pond as well as some stateside highlights. One trend that is evident from the S/S11 shows is the use of orange and shades of. A collection that I am swooning over is J. Mendel with his ethereal, wispy fabrications and cosmetic palettes punctuated by pops of the vibrant color.
