apparently New York Fashion Week.  It's good to see that the animal print trend is not abating, which means that I can still get more mileage out of my Zara leopard print shift dress (thank God because it's tremendously forgiving).  Spotted (no pun intended) en route to the shows, bloggers and bigwigs alike were sporting a range of prints.  I love Jenna Lyons offbeat look with print mixing and a pop of color although those frames she's sporting are a whole other thing.

NYFW Street Style

Almost as much fun as gushing over the Fall '11 runway wears during New York Fashion Week is seeing the ensembles of all that attend these shows.  From quirky to coiffed it proves to be a no holds bar for street style.

LL Bean desert bootie

Primarily seen as a men's shoe staple the desert bootie has been heavily seen in women's collections in suede fabrications and a stacked heel.  Since it's still somewhat masculine make sure to pair it with feminine garb such as skirts or dresses to soften up the look.

Maxi trend: Love it or hate it?  I'm still on the fence, but the impeccable styling of these Nastygal ensembles might make me a believer.

With the weather getting more brisk I definitely intend on taking advantage of the last few weeks of dining al fresco in our tiny bricked backyard downtown.  Canopied by low hanging tree branches it creates the perfect fall atmosphere to spend evenings sipping heavy beers wrapped in fabulous fur coats from Topshop and sporting Coach riding boots with gold hardware.  Emmersonmade (my girl crush) offers the perfect first layer with nautical stripes and an absurdly large poppy flower pin to add a shock of color to the ensemble.
